Laura Lipetsky is a figure skating coach based in the United States with a background as a competitive skater and many years of work with young athletes. After training and competing alongside top U.S. skaters, she transitioned fully into coaching and has since focused on guiding skaters from their first steps on the ice through the junior international level. Over the years, she has worked with national and international competitors within the U.S. Figure Skating system and has been recognized by professional coaching organizations for the results of her students.

A central part of my coaching career has been developmental work with Alysa Liu from her early childhood through her junior years. During this period, I was responsible for building her technical foundation, including jump technique, and supporting her as she progressed from local competitions to national and junior international events. While later stages of her competitive career involved other coaching teams, my role was focused on laying the groundwork that allowed her to grow into a highly competitive skater.

Within the coaching community, my work has been acknowledged by U.S. Figure Skating, the Professional Skaters Association and Skating Magazine, reflecting consistent involvement at the national level and contributions to the development of young athletes. This recognition is tied not only to individual results, but also to a long-term commitment to athlete development and professional standards in coaching.

In my daily work, I focus on helping skaters grow step by step, with attention to solid basics, thoughtful progression and the long-term health of their careers. My philosophy is to balance technical ambition with patience, so that each athlete can develop their own style, confidence and resilience over time. I aim to create an environment where young skaters can work seriously, learn to handle challenges and gradually move from foundational skills toward higher levels of competition.
